The Situation: Legacy Models That Couldn’t Be Modified or Trusted

Client was managing 3D models across multiple facilities, but many were in outdated, non-editable formats that couldn’t be reliably used or updated. At the same time, field changes weren’t always reflected in existing documentation. 

Their engineering team needed a fresh, editable model that matched current field conditions and could serve as a platform for future upgrades and planning. 

The Goal: Deliver Accurate, Editable, and Fully Compliant As-Built Models

The Client aimed to: 

  • Rebuild 3D models in smart, editable formats. 
  • Validate model accuracy using redlines, GAs, isometrics, and Navis models. 
  • Create a version that would support future piping and structural modifications.

The Approach: Quality-Driven Modeling from the Ground Up

  • Created equipment models using assigned coordinates. 
  • Worked isometric-by-isometric for precise piping modeling. 
  • Cross-verified every dimension between isometrics and Navis models. 
  • Replaced unsupported components with fully compatible, editable objects. 
  • Held weekly review meetings to ensure alignment and transparency. 

The Result: One Model, Multiple Uses

  • Delivered a fully smart 3D model, replacing all obsolete or unsupported elements.
